Thermal imaging camera for hunting: purchase advice & test 2026
Last updated: 26.08.2026
To find the right thermal imaging device for your hunting area, you should ask yourself the following questions: 1) What is the composition of my hunting area and what range do I need? 2) What budget am I willing to spend to get the best performance for this range? Generally speaking, the greater the required range, the more expensive the thermal imaging camera will be. BUT: Range isn't everything!
Table of Contents
While the two questions above provide a general guideline for purchasing a thermal imaging camera, they are not the only factors that determine the optimal device for you and your hunting area. Below, we have taken a closer look at the selection criteria, suitable current devices, and the new features for the 2026 season . Since we have all the devices available at the time of writing this review, we can share their real-world performance as well as our subjective impressions with you.

- Flawless operation in the dark
So, if you're a hunter looking for "the best" without spending too much time researching, the CQ35L 2.0 is the best choice. If budget isn't an issue, we recommend its "big brother," the CQ50L 2.0. It offers the same features and specifications, but has an even larger lens, giving it a competitive edge at long distances.
Which thermal imaging camera is right for my area?
Which thermal imaging camera is right for my area?
The influence of the area is particularly large when selecting the right thermal imaging camera. Since we as dealers have many demonstration devices available for testing in the hunting ground, we are of course inclined to use the most powerful devices when hunting. However, our employees do not always choose the same device. The reason is that performance, maximum range & sharpness of detail of the image are not the only decisive factors for hunting success - because the device has to match the area:
Hunting Area – The hunting area and the type of hunting are probably the most significant factors that lead to different decisions among hunters regarding their thermal imaging camera. A hunter who owns a hunting area with frequently long distances needs a different device than a hunter who primarily hunts in wooded areas. Other hunters, in turn, have a mixed hunting area of fields and forests and need to be able to use their thermal imaging device at varying distances.
feeding distance – I often hunt on the Kirrung in the forest. The requirements for the thermal imaging device in this situation are a response to a range of less than 100m and a wide viewing angle through the device. The absolute performance is not the only deciding factor here, as the ranges rarely exceed 100m. What is important, however, is a wide field of vision so that you can see when that happens early on Wild changed.
What is the field of view of the camera? In order to be able to use a thermal imaging camera flexibly, it makes sense to have the widest possible field of view. The width of the field of view is influenced by the diameter, the construction of the lens and the resulting initial magnification (basic magnification) of the camera.
lens diameter – In general, the larger the lens, the smaller the width of the field of view. We compare the width at a distance of 100m. The specification of the field of view for the cameras indicates how wide the cone of vision is at a distance of 100m from the camera. (Classification: A common width is 16m, 20m and more is quite wide, 14m and less is rather narrow.)
initial magnification – The field of view is influenced not only by the objective (i.e. the camera lens), but also by the initial magnification of the thermal imaging device. As an example: This Pulsar Helion 2 XP50 Pro starts with an initial magnification of 2,5x. The much cheaper Helion 2 XQ50F has a basic magnification of 4,5x. So what is “better”? The XP50 Pro can definitely be used more universally because it allows a wider viewing angle.
forest district – If the tree population is dense, the territory is limited by shorter distances, clearings and working on cirques. A suitable thermal imaging device does not have to provide particularly large power reserves, as would be necessary for a field area. The decisive factors are the performance up to 100m and the widest possible viewing angle Wild to be identified early.
field station – If there is a large proportion of fields in the area, you should choose a device with sufficient range. Before you do that Wild approach, look on the field from a distance to see where it is Wild and are already trying to address it from a distance. The effective range of the thermal imaging devices for responding is up to approx. 350m for the most powerful devices and depending on the Wild. Furthermore, can Wild Although it can also be identified (“you can see that something is there”), it cannot be reliably addressed or determined in terms of type, age, gender.
mixed area – Many hunting areas have both fields and forests. Ideally, the thermal imaging camera can work optimally in both environments. This doesn't have to be a compromise. The Pulsar XP devices, for example, have the highest ranges and at the same time a wide field of vision, combined with a low basic magnification, so that the hunter has a sufficiently wide field of vision even in the forest at short distances.
What makes a good thermal imaging camera?
Sensor technology & sensor resolution – The sensor is the heart of the thermal imaging system. The technology of the sensor and the resolution set the framework for the performance level of the entire system. Professional thermal imaging systems use microbolometer sensors (Pulsar, Nitehog) or increasingly common vanadium oxide (VOx) / ceramic sensors (Infiray Outdoor (Xeye), HIKmicro & ThermTec Cyclops). The sensor resolutions range from entry-level devices with 256 x 192 pixels to current professional devices with 640 x 512 pixels or 640 x 480 pixels (Pulsar).
lens size – The lens provides contact between the heat signature of the Wildit and sensor. The larger and higher quality the lens, the better the signal with which the sensor can work. However, the lens has slightly less influence on overall performance than the sensor. Typical lens diameters range from under 20mm to 50mm. Hobbi devices often have significantly smaller lenses.
Base Magnification & Viewing Angle – Base magnification and viewing angle are often underestimated factors of thermal imaging cameras. Ideally, the device's viewing angle should be as wide as possible and the initial magnification low – not high, as some might think! The reason is that a wide field of view in the hunting area is often far more important to hunters than high magnification.
A word about Zoom: Zoom indicates the enlargement of the image. Thermal imaging devices usually have a digital zoom, not an optical zoom like daylight optics [note: this InfiRay Zoom ZH38 / ZH50 V2 are the first devices with optical zoom!]. This means that the image quality decreases significantly as the digital magnification increases. This is especially the case with cheap devices.
TIP : Don't place too much emphasis on maximum magnification! In the field, this often plays a minor role, as identifying the target at the highest zoom level is frequently impossible, and the image appears "washed out" with excessively blurred contours. In other words, 20x magnification is hardly useful in the field – what's important is that the image is clear and sharp at the initial magnification. The first two zoom levels will then be used reliably. Magnifications of 8x and above, on the other hand, are hardly helpful.
Focusable lens: Not all devices have a focusable lens – that is, a rotating ring at the front of the device that allows the image to be focused at different distances. Entry-level devices, on the other hand, have a "fixed focus" that operates with a fixed depth of field at varying distances. Both solutions have advantages and disadvantages: The advantage of a fixed focus is that the device is particularly easy to use (no second hand is needed for focusing) and the optimal depth of field is quite large (high depth of field, offering a good compromise between sharpness at close and far distances). The advantage of focusable lenses is that they can be set precisely to a specific distance and thus achieve higher "maximum performance" from the optical system than a fixed focus. However, depending on the device, you may find yourself readjusting the focus more often and searching for the "optimal focus." At greater distances, however, this readjustment is generally less frequent. All higher-priced devices (mid-range and professional devices) have a focusable lens. Devices with a fixed focus can be found in the price range up to approximately €1.100.
Display – Thermal imaging devices have a display that can be seen through the viewfinder at the rear of the device. OLED and LCOS displays are used, with resolutions ranging from VGA (640 x 480) to HD (1.280 x 960 pixels).
TIP: Don't attach too much importance to the resolution of the display here either. Overall performance is crucial. Example: a Pulsar Helion 2 XP50 has a display resolution of “only” 640 x 480 pixels, but costs almost twice as much as one InfiRay E3 Plus V3.0 (Display 1.280 x 960 pixels) - The performance of the XP50 is still significantly higher than that of the E3 Plus V3.0.
Noise level – Another criterion for choosing the right thermal imaging camera for hunters is the noise level of the shutter. While thermal imaging devices are generally silent due to their digital technology, specifically regarding the sensor and display, the shutter (similar to a camera shutter) does occasionally make a noise. Typically, the camera calibrates once upon startup – the image freezes briefly, accompanied by a soft " click ."
This noise is louder on some devices and quieter on others - with some devices, hunters now have concerns as to whether this is the case Wild could hear this noise when the wind is unfavorable.
In continuous operation, the shutter is released either automatically or manually to calibrate and better display the image. Most thermal imaging devices calibrate a little more frequently after starting (approx. 1-2 times per minute), and a little less frequently later on during operation.
Innovations in 2026
Innovations in 2026 In the last year, many new devices but also other manufacturers came onto the market. Infiray Outdoor now operates under the brand name Nocpix. The company HIK (formerly HIKvision, now HIKmicro) presented new devices in all price ranges.
HIK has already made a name for itself among authorities and industry and is one of the largest suppliers of security and surveillance technology in China and worldwide. Now HIK also appears in the field of observation devices for hunting & Outdoor and presented very good devices (test below).
ThermTec is an Asian manufacturer that is now making a more significant appearance in the German market for observation devices with its new V3 models. The devices stand out with a number of interesting features not yet available from other manufacturers (software-based distance estimation, very large battery, extensive configuration options). It remains to be seen whether the manufacturer can establish itself in the market. Initial feedback from our customers has been very positive.
The well-known manufacturer, popular with many hunters Pulsar is still behind schedule with its thermal imaging devices in the course of 2024. Dealer orders are sometimes only filled according to quota and customers have to wait a long time for their devices. For one or the other hunter there is a reason to look for a suitable device from other manufacturers.
When it comes to new technologies, the switch from 17 to 12 micrometer sensors should be mentioned. Asian manufacturers in particular have already completely converted sensor production to 12µm and are leading the technological progress. Practically all HIKmicro hunting devices (except the two entry-level models LC06 & L15) already have a 12µm detector. Likewise those InfiRay V2.0 and V3.0 devices from Infiray. In addition to the pixel interval, the sensitivity of the sensors is constantly being improved (HIK scores InfiRay now its various new devices, which can display a NETD value of <25mK - very good!).
rangefinder – In 2025, more and more devices with rangefinders will be introduced. This is not a stadiametric (auxiliary) rangefinder, as many devices already have on board. Devices with laser rangefinders (also called “LRF” laser rangefinders) measure the distance to the focused object at the push of a button or permanently (Pulsar) and show the hunter the distance down to the meter. Since this technology is integrated into the thermal imaging camera, such a rangefinder can also be used in absolute darkness, as the target can be identified even without daylight. Current devices with LRF are: Pulsar Accolade, Pulsar merger, Pulsar Axion XQ35 LRF, the Xeye Finder series (InfiRay FL25R, FH25R, FL35R & FH35R) and devices from Guide (TN430; TN450; TN630 & TN650 binoculars).
Binoculars: Thermal imaging binoculars are becoming more popular. These devices are usually found in the top price segment. HIKmicro has Habrok 4K, however, is now also available as an affordable device. The Nocpix Quest sets new standards for binoculars – maximum performance, excellent usability, and particularly compact.
Territory & Technology - The summary:
You should select the thermal imaging camera to suit your hunting ground, hunting habits and budget. In summary it can be said: The more field share in the area, the more performance (and budget) you should plan in order to find the optimal device. Less powerful devices may also suffice at baiting distances and in forest areas. Also pay attention to the starting magnification and the field of view - a wide field of view is often an advantage.
How much does a thermal imaging camera for hunting cost?
The prices for thermal imaging devices used for hunting start at 700 EUR. The devices with the highest range cost up to EUR 4.000. Devices popular with hunters are often in the price range between EUR 1.000 and EUR 2.800.
What is a thermal imageintentdevice?
The devices discussed so far are handheld observation devices. However, there are also clip-on devices that attach to daytime optics (target optics), allowing hunting in twilight and darkness (be aware of legal regulations!). These are referred to as "clip-on devices" ("mounted in front of optics"). Further information can be found here.
What does dual use mean?
Many thermal imaging attachments are labeled as “dual-use”. This means that the attachment can also be used as a handheld device. Either an eyepiece is supplied for this - or you simply look through the clamp adapter if the device is not mounted on the daylight optics. However, we recommend purchasing a separate handheld device and an attachment. The (quiet & fast) assembly when stalking or on the hide is often not realistic. [Note: with the VENARI duo connector can now actually be installed quickly and quietly without the point of impact shifting. There is also a for this system passendes Okular for manual operation.]

> Long battery life: 10h
> Viewing angle at 100m = 21,8m
> Particularly sensitive detector (<25µK NETD)
The merger of Pulsar replaces the Accolade 2. It is a binocular, so you look through the device with both eyes, unlike most other devices that are designed as monoculars. The advantage of this design is that it relieves the strain on the eyes during prolonged observation. The merger is particularly ideal for long stands, observation over long distances and stationary observation. A binocular is less suitable for stalking due to night blindness, as long as both eyes look at the monitor in the device. A monocular is better for stalking because only one eye is blinded. The merger offers maximum performance thanks to the high-resolution sensor (640×480 pixels at <25µK NETD) and the high-contrast display (1.024 x 768 pixel resolution). A laser rangefinder is also integrated for precise determination of the distance to the target. A laser rangefinder is particularly useful when using a thermal imaging attachment, as it is easy to misjudge the distance.
Summary: Key takeaways about intuitive eating
There are many thermal imaging devices for hunters on the market. In this report you have seen a selection of professional devices that currently by many hunters be used.
For your camera, ask yourself these questions:
1) How is my territory composed and what range do I need?
2) What budget am I willing to spend to get the best performance for this range? Basically, the more range is required, the more expensive the thermal imaging cameras become.
Other factors are: the widest possible viewing angle (for the feeding ground / forest areas) and a smooth locking mechanism.

Discontinued devices / series
The following devices have been removed from the program (non-exhaustive list)
Guide TD210

Please note: : We were provided with a test unit of the TD210. The performance of the device is at the very lowest end of what is acceptable for hunting. As a result, we have... VENARI We decided not to distribute the device. Current devices costing around EUR 500 are not sufficient for hunting purposes in order to be able to identify and address people safely. We recommend that budget-conscious hunters consider at least the C2W from Xeye. The TD210 simply has too little power, even at short distances, to be useful for hunting.
Inexpensive thermal imaging camera for detecting heat sources at short distances. With an introductory price of around EUR 500, the TD210 is a particularly inexpensive thermal imaging device. It is equipped with a 256 x 192px sensor and has an LCOS display with a resolution of 1.280 x 960px. On the equipment side, WiFi with app support and a video recording function are on board. The device does not have an LRF (laser range finder), but was initially announced by the manufacturer with a laser marker (laser pointer).

Pulsar Axion XM30s
middle class for distances up to 125m – cheapest device with 12 micron technology! Real”Pulsar-feeling” at the lowest price.
Cheapest Pulsar in this comparison group: Impressive performance due to the most modern sensor with 12 micrometer technology (significantly more performance than 17 micrometer sensors!) - Good equipment and Pulsar-typical ergonomic operation.
The XM30s has given the Axion series a respectable leap in performance. While we weren't too convinced by the first devices in the series (Axion Key & Axion XM30), the XM30s has made huge improvements. It is similar to the operating feel and image performance of the much larger XQ-F devices Pulsar already very close.
The device has by far the greatest performance of the compact devices in the comparison field. Despite its light weight and dimensions that easily fit in a fist, the device performs like other mid-range devices.
Tip: The XM30s has a very good viewfinder, which is ideal for people who wear glasses. The picture is nice and big Wild so it's easy to address. The device is somewhat more limited when it comes to viewing angles. The closure of the device is Pulsar-typically very quiet. Further information about the Pulsar Axion thermal imaging cameras.
Pulsar Axion XM30f

Sensor 320 x 240 – 12µm pitch > Long battery life: 5h > Viewing angle at 100m = 13,7The Pulsar Axion XM30F replaces the Key XM30 of the Axion device series. The Axion XM30F is a lower mid-range device. The sensor has a very low resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, but is absolutely modern with a 12µm pixel interval. The display used is a high-contrast AMOLED display with 640 x 400 pixels. The advantage of the small Axion and the biggest difference to competing devices is the removable battery system. Many devices in this price range have built-in batteries. With the XM30F you are much more flexible and can observe the area for much longer with a spare battery.
Pulsar Axion XQ38/LRF
Replaced by Axion XQ35/LRF
Pulsar Helion 2 XQ38F / XQ50F (discontinued!)

middle class for medium distances – high quality Pulsar Thermal imaging device for hunting. Robust technology with new sensor and new software.
Sensor 384 x 288 (VOx) – 17µm pitch
> Battery life: 11h
> Response from about 225m
> Viewing angle at 100m = 13m (XQ50F)
The Pulsar The Helion 2 XQ series are the mid-range variants of the Helion 2 Pro devices. The biggest difference to these is the sensor resolution and the field of view. The XQ-F devices use the mid-range sensor with a resolution of 384×288 pixels. The field of view is 13m (XQ50F) in contrast to 21,8m for the Helion 2 Pro XP50 and 640×480 pixel sensor resolution.
Pulsar Proton XQ30

ProtonThe Proton XQ30 is a compact thermal imaging device with dual-use function, which means it could also be used as a handheld device. However, there are others in this function Pulsar Devices with identical technology (e.g. the Axion XQ35) are more likely. We therefore classify it as an attachment device. For further information, please take a look at our Purchase advice for thermal imaging attachments.
Pulsar Krypton XG50

The Krypton is available in two versions, BOTH of which can be used as attachments.
Krypton XG50 = attachment incl. eyepiece
Krypton FXG50 = attachment without eyepiece
Due to the legal situation, only the XG50 variant is delivered in Germany ("dual use").
The Krypton XG50 is a thermal imaging attachment with a dual-use function, which means it could also be used as a handheld device. However, there are others in this function Pulsar Devices with identical technology (e.g. this Pulsar Helion 2 XP50) is more likely. We therefore classify it as an attachment device. For further information, please take a look at our Purchase advice for thermal imaging attachments.
Pulsar Accolade 2 LRF XP50 (Through the Pulsar merger replaced)

Top class – detection range up to approx. 380m – thermal imaging binoculars with particularly high-resolution detector & integrated laser rangefinder.
> sensor 640 x 480px (Microbolometer) – 17µm pitch
> Long battery life (9h)
> Response from about 350m
> Viewing angle at 100m = 21,8m
> Particularly sensitive detector (<25µK NETD)
The Accolade series from Pulsar is something very special - the Accolade 2 XP50 is the only thermal imaging binocular in our test series. Unlike monoculars, with the Accolade you look through the device with both eyes. This is particularly helpful when observing/sitting for long periods of time as it relieves strain on the eyes and, unlike a monocular, one eye does not look at strong light while the other looks into the darkness. The Accolade also offers an integrated laser rangefinder, which allows distances to be determined precisely.
The Accolade 2 LRF will be delivered for the first time in spring 2021 in the "Pro" variant, which uses an improved detector and can boast a sensitivity of <25µK (NETD). The predecessor, on the other hand, achieved <40mK (NETD).
HIKmicro Lynx LC06 (Discontinued)

Note : We no longer carry the LC06 due to an excessively high return rate and recommend at least its sister model, the LE10 (see below), for hunting purposes. The LC06 simply lacks sufficient power, even at short distances.
HIKmicro's most affordable thermal imaging camera. Advantages : Extremely low price with performance for very short distances (provided the heat source is sufficiently large). The impressive features are noteworthy – even 2x/4x zoom, Wi-Fi, and video recording are included!
Not recommended for hunting use (see below)
Sensor: 160 x 120 pixels (VOx)
WiFi & Video Recording
Field of view at 100m = 43m
The HIK 6.2mm is only suitable for short distances. It does not cope well with small heat sources (rabbits) and can only be used with large heat sources over very short distances. Hunting use is only conceivable over short feeding distances under optimal conditions.
The device is very light (250g) and you can carry it with you “always” in your jacket pocket. The start-up time is a bit longer than desired (8s), but since it has an extremely long battery life (10h), you can leave it on practically permanently.
The eyepiece is pleasantly large, so that it can also be used comfortably with glasses - there is also a diopter setting. The shutter is quiet and the "click" is rather gentle.
HIKmicro Lynx Pro LE10 & Lynx Pro LE15

Entry-level device for short distances – the most affordable device with an extremely wide field of view and good features.
> Sensor 256 x 192 (VOx) – 12µm
> Battery life: around 7 hours
> Response up to approx. 50m / 70m
> Viewing angle at 100m = around 30m! (very good!)
The HIKmicro Lynx Pro LE10 and HIKmicro Lynx Pro LE15 are compact thermal imaging devices for budget-conscious hunters. Despite their low prices, these models are very well-suited for hunting in wooded areas at close range. The form factor of the HIK Lynx Pro is identical for the LE10, LE15, and LH15 models; however, the system performance varies depending on the model due to the larger lens (larger objective diameter). The HIKmicro Lynx devices boast an outstanding feature set, and the LE10 and LE15 also offer recording functionality, Wi-Fi, app control, various color palettes, and even 8x zoom (although one shouldn't expect too much from a budget device). Nevertheless, the features and operation are very good, the build quality is impressive, and with an extremely wide field of view of approximately 30 meters, the LE10 is ideally suited for hunting in the woods and at baiting sites. As fixed focal length devices, these cameras are also suitable for hunters who don't want to focus too much on the controls. One-handed operation is therefore possible with this camera!

The LE10 has a 10mm lens with fixed focal length and 265×192 pixels resolution of the detector.
The LE15 has a 15mm lens with fixed focal length and 265×192 pixels resolution of the detector.
The LH15 also has a 15mm lens, but with a focusable lens and 384×288 pixel resolution of the detector.
Note : HIKmicro has included the LE10 / LE15 devices in its product range as a sensible alternative to the LC06, which is significantly better equipped for most hunting situations than its smaller sister model.
HIKmicro Lynx L15
Replaced by Lynx Pro LE15 or LH15.
HIKmicro Lynx LH15

> Sensor 384 x 288 (VOx) – 12µm > Extremely long battery life: approx. 7 hours > Response up to approx. 70m > Viewing angle at 100m = 30m! (very good!)The HIK Lynx LH15 is a compact thermal imaging device for price-conscious hunters. Despite its low price, the device can be used very well for hunting. The form factor of the HIK corresponds to that of the small LC06, but it offers significantly more performance (higher resolution sensor & detector). The equipment of the HIK devices is outstanding and so the LH15 can also come up with a recording function, WLAN, app control, various color palettes and even 8x zoom (although you shouldn't expect too much from a cheap device here). Nevertheless: Equipment and operation are very good, the housing is convincing and with the extremely wide field of view of 30m, the LH15 is predestined for forest and bait hunting. As a device with a fixed focal length, it is also suitable for hunters who do not want to pay too much attention to the operation. One-hand operation is therefore possible with this device! Important notes: HIKmicro sold the Lynx L15 model until spring. It has the same housing, but the older 17µm sensor and a lower-resolution display. The Lynx Pro LH15, on the other hand, has the new 12µm sensor and an LCOS display with a resolution of 1.280 x 960px and can thus generate a slightly higher system performance.
HIKmicro Lynx Pro L19

Sensor 384 x 288 (VOx) – 12µm pitch > Long battery life (7,5 hours) > Response from about 220m > Viewing angle at 100m = 24m! (pleasantly wide!)The HIK Lynx LH19 forms the transition from a fixed focus to a focusable lens in the HIKmicro model range. Equipment and form factor are good and compact like the sister models. The LH19 uses the same detector as the L15, or the larger LH25. However, it differs from the L15 by the larger lens diameter and the focusable lens, which leads to a significantly higher response range. Thanks to the focusable lens, the LH19 can also be set exactly to the viewed distance, which is not possible with the L15 (fixed focus).
HIKmicro Lynx Pro L25
Replaced by Lynx 2.0 LH25.

Mid-range for short/medium distances – cheapest device with an extremely wide field of view and good features
Sensor 384 x 288 (VOx) – 12µm pitch
> Long battery life (7,5 hours)
> Response from about 290m
> Viewing angle at 100m = 19
The HIKmicro Lynx LH25 is particularly popular with our customers. It is an extremely attractive compromise between good system performance and the particularly small form factor of the Lynx device series from HIKmicro. The same detector (384 x 288 pixels, VOx) of the aforementioned sister model is used, but this time paired with a larger lens diameter (25mm). This leads to an increased response performance of approx. 290m and thus again significantly more than with the LH19.
The LH25 is particularly interesting for areas where there are also some larger distances and you want to be adequately prepared for these situations, but do not want to always carry the weight and large form factor of a top-class device.
HIKmicro OH35 (DISCONTINUED! Through this Falcon FH35 replaced!)

Upper mid-range for distances up to 225m – top features, good operation and above all a superb detector with 35mK sensitivity!
Sensor: 384 x 288 @ 17µm
>Viewing angle at 100m = 19m wide
>Very high detail sharpness
>Response in the test from approx. 225m
>10 year guarantee on the sensor
>NETD 35mK sensitivity
The HIK with 35mm lens (HM-TS03-35XF/W-OH35) delivers very good performance for this price. High detection range, top equipment and a pleasantly large eyepiece. The special feature is the extremely sensitive detector, which perceives temperature differences below 35 micro-Kelvin (competitors usually 40mK or 50mK!).
The HIK 35mm is the current sensation and price-performance tip in the thermal imaging observation device market. The reason: an absolutely convincing detector with a razor-sharp image thanks to the 35mK sensor with 384 x 288 pixels.
The equipment leaves nothing to be desired: WLAN, video recording, picture-in-picture function, stadiametric range finder and everything else that is reserved for high-end devices.
This device is particularly suitable for field hunters and areas with a high proportion of fields. As a universal device with a width of 19m, the field of view is in the middle of the comparison devices. The shutter of the device also moves in the middle of the scale - not as quiet as a Pulsar-Device – but not loud either.
Infiray Outdoor ZH38 / ZH50

Top class – detection range up to approx. 350m – thermal imaging camera with particularly high-resolution detector & interchangeable battery system with very large batteries.
> Optical image enlargement: NEW! There is no other device!
> Sensor 640 x 480px (VOx technology) – 12µm pitch
> Battery life up to 6 hours
> ZH38: 19mm/38mm lens; Field of view: 17m or 34m
> ZH50: 25mm / 50mm lens; field of vision: 15m or 30m
The ZOOM device series from Infiray Outdoor is different from all other cameras listed. The Peculiarity of the devices lies in the “zoom” function. It means one optical image magnification. Unlike a digital zoom (which every device has), the ZH38 / ZH50 has an optical zoom. The image enlargement does not reduce the image quality. The Zoom ZH38 / ZH50 is the first device on the market that has a “real” zoom.

The detector is the well-known 640x512px resolution 12µm detector Infiray for use. The display takes place on a high-quality OLED display with 1.280x960px resolution. The ZH38 and ZH50 models are identical except for the lens. The ZH38 has a 38mm lens, the ZH50 has a 50mm lens. This results in slightly different perspectives for the two models (see points above). The equipment includes everything you are used to in the upper class: WiFi with app support, recorder function.
Note : The Zoom devices have interchangeable batteries with particularly high capacity, making the Zoom suitable for long deployments in the field.
Infiray Outdoor E2n (DISCONTINUED! Replaced by the AFFO series!)

Entry-level device / middle class for short distances (circulation, areas with a high proportion of forest) – cheapest Infiray Device with a very wide field of vision and very good battery life
> New in March 2021
> Sensor 256 x 192 (VOx) – 12µm
> Extremely long battery life (up to 20h)
> Response up to about 50m
> Viewing angle at 100m = 23,6m! (very good)
The E2n V2.0 is the revised version of the extremely successful E2n. It is now equipped with a modern 12 µm detector and can therefore display finer structures at short / medium feeding distances. A good picture, simple operation and long battery life characterize the E2n V2. The device is particularly recommended for short/medium feeding distances and districts with a clear proportion of forest. Here it can score with a wide field of view and good display at distances of up to approx. 50m. 2x zoom and 4 color palettes are on board. It has an ergonomic body and a good viewfinder (pleasant eyepiece).
The device is waterproof, robust and has an extremely long battery life (up to 20 hours). This is possible thanks to the economical VOx sensor. The effective range for addressing is around 50m.
The advantage of the E2n is the pleasantly wide field of view of 23,6m, which makes the device ideal for baiting and forest hunters. The device has a 2x zoom and 4 color choices and a diopter adjustment. The E2n's shutter is very quiet. The E2n and the E3n are also very popular with less technology enthusiasts because they are particularly easy to use: switch on - look through - speak! No unnecessary settings options and extras.
The E2n is also a very good stand-by in combination with a powerful thermal imaging attachment for targeting at a distance. It is best suited for reading on foot or from the car (since the focus is fixed and does not have to be adjusted with the second hand).
Infiray Outdoor E3n (DISCONTINUED! Replaced by the AFFO series!)
Particularly popular device among hunters due to the compromise between low price, simple operation and long battery life. The device is suitable for short and medium distances. The large VOx sensor (384 x 288 pixels) in combination with the fixed focus and extremely long battery life is particularly attractive. Many hunters who “do not need any gadgets” like to use the E3n. Since the focus is fixed (so you don't have to focus the image on the front of the device), operation is very easy for the less tech-savvy. Switch it on and take a look – done! The E3n also has a wide field of view - perfect for feeding!
The Xeye E3n is particularly popular with hunters, as it can master many hunting situations while optimally mastering the price/performance compromise. The range for addressing is sufficient beyond the feeding place, but the costs are reasonable.
The E3n has the same equipment as the E2n (color palettes, zoom), but with the significantly larger sensor (384 x 288 pixels), which is also used in the significantly more expensive Xeye devices. Unlike the E2n, it has 2x/4x zoom. Many customers report the optimal device in terms of performance and price.

Many of our customers also like to use this model in conjunction with a more powerful attachment.Infiray Outdoor E3 Max V2 (DISCONTINUED! Replaced by the E3 Max V3!)
Infiray Outdoor E3 Max V3

Upper mid-range – effective from 360m – very good ergonomics – top eyepiece with very low fatigue factor
Sensor: 384 x 288 @ 12µm
>New display with OLED technology
>Sensitivity <50mK
>Very high detail sharpness
>Response from approx. 360m
InfiRay has made detailed improvements to the E3 Max V2 and has now presented the V3 model variant.
Xeye E6+ V3.0

Top class – detection range from approx. 350m – thermal imaging camera with particularly high-resolution detector & popular IPS interchangeable battery system.
> sensor 640 x 480px (VOx technology) – 17µm pitch
> Battery life up to 6 hours
> Response from about 363m
> Viewing angle at 100m = 22m
> V3.0 version with revised software and more sensitive sensor (NETD value of ≤25mK (instead of ≤50mK with V2.0)
The Xeye E6+ V3.0 is a powerful thermal imaging monocular for observation of Wildanimals and other heat sources at longer distances. Like a standard thermal imaging camera, it contrasts warm creatures with cooler terrain and creates a visible to humans Picture. The Xeye E6+ V3.0 is a real challenge when it comes to response range and image detail. Thanks to the extremely high-resolution and highly sensitive VOx detector and the 35mm lens, the device is able to detect a red deer at a distance of up to 1.680m. The safe response of highwild is again possible up to 363m. The excellent price-performance ratio is another highlight of the new model: The Xeye E6+ V3.0 offers top performance at a very fair price.
VOx detector with 640 × 512 pixel resolution, 12µm pitch and ≤25mK NETD value
The built-in VOx sensor is matched to the new improved Matrix III image processing algorithm. With a resolution of 640 × 512 pixels and a pitch of 12 µm, it offers an particularly small pixel interval and results in superior image quality with no unwanted smearing to at the greatest distances. A lower NETD value of ≤25mK makes it possible to maintain the outstanding performance potential of the device even in the critical temperature range in the scene. This is special helpful in summer heat when the temperature differences between Wild and the surrounding area are significantly lower.
Infiray Outdoor Eye III E3 Max (DISCONTINUED! Replaced by the EL35!)

Upper mid-range – effective from 360m – completely redesigned | excellent ergonomics – new housing shape, various innovations compared to the V2.0
> Sensor: 384 x 288 @ 12 µm
> Sensitivity <25mK (NETD) | Absolute top value!
>Viewing angle at 100m = 18,4m wide
>Very high detail sharpness
>Response from approx. 260m
>Caution: 5x optical magnification | Good for field areas, rather annoying at short distances
The InfiRay (Xeye) Eye III E3 Max is located between the E3 Plus and E6 Plus in terms of performance and is part of the “Eye III” series introduced at the end of 2022 InfiRay Outdoor (formerly Xeye / Iray). The Eye III series devices have been completely redesigned compared to the previous models. A completely redesigned housing and various detailed improvements give the devices a significant leap forward.
Biggest update – Extremely powerful sensor! InfiRay equips all new devices (including Zoom & Unique series) with the new sensor development. The sensor is manufactured using the 12µm process (well, other manufacturers can already do that), but what is new is the particularly high sensitivity of
Smart details – In addition to the technical basis, some detailed properties have also been added / improved. The charging socket is now magnetic (Protects the power pack from being “ripped out” improperly). The device has one Auto start function (Simply open the protective cap and the device starts – very helpful, especially at night). Revised operating concept (push-turn wheel and just one additional button - significantly improves intuitive operation compared to the old one InfiRay Operating concept and is also superior to the competition here). Integrated microphone (at Pulsar been available for a long time - now it's available too InfiRay after. From now on videos with sound recording). Fast charging function (approx. 1% charge level is reached within 90 hour).
The Eye III E3 Max – Our price-performance tip for hunters with a significant amount of field hunting. The Eye III E3 Max V3 is a great choice for hunters who frequently need to target game at longer distances (over 200m). The E3 Max is a sensible option for budget-conscious hunters. It's not as expensive as the top-of-the-line models (E6+ / E6 Pro), but it certainly has enough performance to hold its own in open fields . This is achieved by offering high optical magnification . This allows the hunter to see sufficient detail even at a distance, but the field of view is quite narrow, which can be a hindrance at close range or near baiting sites. The advantages of the "Max" include very good image sharpness (a significantly more modern sensor than the competition), a high-resolution OLED display (1.440 x 1.080 pixels), and a very finely adjustable focus (simply excellent).
HIKmicro Raptor RQ50

> V3.0 version with revised software and more sensitive sensor (NETD value of ≤25mK (instead of ≤50mK with V2.0)
The E6 Pro V3.0 is a new high-end thermal imaging device from Xeye InfiRay. The third generation of the proven E6 Pro offers further optimized image performance. Thanks to the increased heat sensitivity of the detector and a new high-resolution OLED display, the E6 Pro V3.0 enables previously unknown image quality in the digital sector. The VOx ceramic sensor with 640 × 512 pixel resolution and 12µm pitch can now boast an extremely low NETD value of ≤25mK (instead of ≤50mK in V2.0). The enhanced sensor technology, the improved Matrix III image processing algorithm and the 50mm lens ensure that the heat signature of a deer can be captured at a distance of up to 2.380m. Red can go up to 428mwild of fallow, roe or blackwild be distinguished.
