Properties of the device
ThermTec Ventus 650L
The ThermTec Ventus 650L is a binocular multispectral device for long-range hunting. It packs five functions into one housing: thermal imaging, digital day and night vision, and a... laser rangefinder and a dual IR illuminator. The thermal imaging sensor triggers with 640×512 pixels The thermal sensitivity is... below 15 mK NETDThis high resolution reveals every detail, even in fog and rain. The digital channel delivers a 4K image with 3536×3536 pixels. That means you are speaking Wild It looks clear in daylight and at dusk. Both channels look through the same 50mm f/1.0 lens. The AMOLED display Both visual worlds are displayed in crystal-clear sharpness. With approximately 833 grams The Ventus 650L feels like a solid pair of binoculars in the hand. Two 18650 batteries The device is powered by four batteries, which are included. The housing has a protection class of IP67K and withstands rain and dust in the field without any problems.
Who is the Ventus 650L suitable for?

Thermal imaging, day vision, night vision, laser rangefinder, and dual IR illuminator are all integrated into a single unit. You can switch between channels without removing the device. This eliminates the need to reach for a second device while hunting from a hide.
The software smooths the thermal image at high magnification. Details such as a brushstroke or the humps of a boar remain visible even at high zoom levels. The image does not become pixelated.
Sensor and image quality – clear response in fog and rain
The thermal imaging sensor of the Ventus 650L works with 640×512 pixels and a 12 µm pixel pitch. NETD is below 15 mKThe device can distinguish even the smallest temperature differences. Humid air and rain hardly affect the thermal image. For precise response, switch to the digital 4K channel. Deerwild It can be clearly identified there up to about 200 meters.
Optics and range – detection distance up to 2.600 meters
Both channels view through a 50mm f/1.0 lens . The thermal channel detects game at distances up to 2.600 meters . The integrated laser rangefinder measures distances up to 1.000 meters with an accuracy of one meter. This allows you to know the exact distance to your game before firing. A ballistic calculator then directly calculates the appropriate aiming point correction. This ensures accurate shooting even at long range.
Recording and functions – Picture-in-picture for reliable addressing
The picture-in-picture function displays both channels simultaneously. You keep an eye on the thermal image and see the sharp digital channel in the small window. The dual IR illuminator switches between 850 nm and 940 nm. The 940 nm setting remains active for the Wild Almost invisible. Photos and videos automatically end up in the 64 GB large storage capacity.
The proximity sensor between the eyecups automatically switches off the display as soon as you remove the Ventus 650L. This function can be deactivated in the menu for monocular use, such as in a car.
Battery and robustness – IP67 and up to 12 hours runtime
Two 18650 batteries power the Ventus 650L. Four batteries are included, along with a charging cradle featuring a capacity indicator. One set of batteries lasts approximately 6 hours , while the spare set provides a good 12 hours of use. The housing is IP67 rated, meaning it can withstand rain, dust, and even a fall into wet grass. Weighing in at 833 grams, it feels as comfortable and secure in the hand as a classic 8x56 binocular.
Charging the batteries directly in the device is not possible. Always take the external charging cradle with you on long hunting weekends. Because it is a binocular device, the display will dazzle both eyes simultaneously in complete darkness. After removing the binoculars, give your eyes a short time to readjust to the darkness.
Our conclusion on the Ventus 650L
I used the Ventus 650L in my hunting area for several weeks and I have to say: it really shows its strengths at long range. While hunting from a stand in the open fields, I spotted a roe deer.wild im 4K channel up to about 200 meters The image is crystal clear – you could already sense the use of a brush. The feel of it reminds me of a good, classic brush. 8×56 binocularsThe device sits comfortably and securely in the hand. The rocker switch is easy to locate even with gloves on in the dark, which I really appreciate in the cold winter weather.
Particularly impressive: extremely easy to handle and compact , as well as the ability to easily adjust the focus of the thermal and daylight channels with your finger ( rotary dials on the right and left ). A third dial in the center controls the zoom function. Overall, the best operating concept among binoculars currently on the market.
There are two things I have to say honestly: The proximity sensor is really sensitive; it often annoyed me when using one eye while driving – thankfully, it can be deactivated in the menu. And since both eyes are occupied by the binoculars, the device causes glare in both eyes simultaneously in complete darkness. For stalking or tracking, I would therefore recommend a handheld device. However, for quietly sitting in a hunting blind in open fields, the Ventus 650L is definitely a valuable addition for me.
For hunters who tend to hunt in confined woodland areas, I recommend taking a look at the sister device, ThermTec Ventus 635L . Its wider field of view is simply invaluable in dense vegetation.

Questions & Answers about the Thermtec VENTUS
Pieces clearly visible at over 200 m – and more than just a white spot. Temperature differences at WildThe shapes were clearly visible; a brush could be discerned. For reliable identification, digital zoom is recommended, which uses a new algorithm to avoid pixelation and render the image abstractly yet with rich detail.
You can switch between 850 nm and 940 nm. In the field, 940 nm is recommended – invisible to the human eye and significantly more discreet. Additionally, the illuminator is focusable, meaning the beam can be adjusted to the desired distance, and the brightness is adjustable in 4 steps.
Approximately 6 hours – provided Wi-Fi is disabled. The device uses two standard 21650 batteries, which you can buy anywhere. Two sets of batteries (4 batteries total) plus a charger are included.
Yes. The physical rocker switch (On/Standby/Off) can be located by touch without looking. You can therefore reliably check the operating status even in the dark and while wearing gloves.
No. A proximity sensor detects when you remove the device and automatically switches off the screen. This protects against glare and prevents you from being spotted in the field by an illuminated display.
No. The caps are made of soft rubber and are completely silent. They can be folded to the side or removed and reattached without any noise.
Yes. The Ventus 650L has a ¼-inch tripod thread, and a tripod riser for standard tripod plates is included.
