NEW: ThermTec AI Calibration

The automatic calibration works without the annoying background image freezing. You can keep a constant eye on the herd, even while the device is recalibrating.

NEW: Thermal Super Resolution

AI-powered image processing combines optical magnification with digital zoom up to 4x. The result is a steady, detailed image even at high magnification – important when you want to clearly identify a subject at a distance.

Sensor and image quality – clear response at night and in rain

The 640×512 sensor with a pixel size of 12 µm delivers a fine, high-contrast thermal image. With a NETD of < 15 mK, the Cyclops can distinguish even small temperature differences – for example, between fur and damp forest floor after a rain shower. The 50 Hz refresh rate keeps even a fleeing animal smoothly in focus. These details appear even sharper on the AMOLED display because the contrast is significantly higher than with conventional LCD panels.

The 35mm lens with an aperture of f/0.8 gathers enough heat radiation, even in darkness, to produce a clear image. The detection range of 1800m is easily sufficient in open fields to spot a sounder of game early on. The field of view at 100m is 21,9 x 17,6m – adequately sized for a good overview when hunting from a stand. The stepless digital zoom up to 4x allows you to zoom in without losing sight of the surroundings.

Important notes

The 2,6x base magnification plus digital zoom is particularly suitable for identifying and observing targets. The Cyclops is not intended for use on a firearm as a handheld device.

Integrated rangefinder and zoom – 1000 m range

The integrated laser rangefinder measures up to 1000 meters with an accuracy of ±1 m . You know the exact distance to the game before you even think about shooting – a real advantage for ethical hunting. This eliminates the need for any additional rangefinder accessories. The Class 1 laser technology with a wavelength of 905 nm is safe for eye use.

My conclusion on the Cyclops 635L 3.0

I have to be honest: A Test device I haven't actually held one in my hands yet. But what immediately catches my eye when I look at the flyer is the... Form factor. The laser rangefinder It sits completely within the housing and doesn't protrude anywhere – this makes the Cyclops pleasantly compact and unobtrusive to use. With handheld devices, I'm often bothered when the LRF sticks out of the housing like an extra bulky piece. ThermTec seems to have found a clever solution here.

Overall, the Cyclops 635L 3.0 strikes me as a very interesting monocular . The combination of the 35mm lens and the high-resolution 640×512 sensor with a NETD of under 15 mK suggests decent image quality. I'll report back with my practical impressions as soon as I've had a chance to use the device myself.

Jens

I am a hunter. When you come to me, you won't be talking to a salesperson – but to someone who actually uses the equipment in the field.

There's a raised platform right next to the sales area. Take a seat, grab the device – and look out. That's how you'll see how it really counts.

I will take my time for you. Therefore, I kindly ask you to make a brief appointment beforehand.

Yours sincerely, Jens Dewenter Venari Hunting, Rastede
