More informationHIKmicro Thunder TQ50CL 3.0 – Thermal imaging attachment with integrated rangefinder
The Thunder The TQ50CL 3.0 is the flagship of the new Thunder-series from HIKmicro. The 640×512 sensor with 12 µm pixel pitch and a NETD value of less than 15 mK It delivers one of the sharpest thermal images in its class. The OLED display has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. on. The housing consists of a Magnesium alloy and weighs around 460 grams – handy enough for stalking, robust enough for any sit in the rain. The device runs on a Exchangeable battery system, and are included in the delivery two batteries Included. As an attachment, it mounts via the M52×0,75 thread Compatible with all common adapters. The TQ50CL 3.0 is both a fully-fledged observation device – clip-on and monocular in one.
Who is this suitable for? Thunder TQ50CL 3.0?
New developments Thunder 3.0th Generation
The TQ50CL 3.0 calibrates its sensor continuously in the background – the image no longer freezes. With older devices using a classic shutter, there was a brief freeze and an audible click. This no longer happens with... Thunder 3.0 is no longer supported. This is a real safety advantage, especially at the moment of firing: no image dropout, no risk of seeing the wrong aiming point.
The The laser rangefinder is built into the 50mm lens. – No bulkhead, no side attachment, no protruding parts. This is no small detail: Externally mounted LRF units often sit too low and collide with low-profile scopes mounted on the barrel. This is completely eliminated with the TQ50CL 3.0. The distance can be measured directly using the three buttons on top of the receiver – without having to navigate through menus.
The TQ50CL 3.0 detects how the weapon is being held. If the weapon is resting on the shooting stand or hanging from the sling, the display automatically switches to standby mode. The image appears immediately as soon as you shoulder the weapon. No searching for a button, no waiting. Especially with the black one.wild In the cornfield, where the sow can move out of the stand in seconds, that makes all the difference.
The zeroing process works via the HIKmicro Sight App Via smartphone. You enter the distance in centimeters to the target – the app then transfers the correction to the device. No calculations with X and Y axes, no counting clicks. The device takes over the parameters, and the next shot is guaranteed to hit the mark. We highly recommend this method, especially for beginners.
Sensor and image quality – clear response in darkness and rain
The 640×512 sensor with one Pixel pitch of 12 µm is the heart of the TQ50CL 3.0. The The NETD value is below 15 mK This means the device can detect even the slightest temperature differences. From a distance, you can not only see if an animal is standing still, but also details like the hump of a boar or the belly stripe of a sow. OLED display with 1920×1080 pixels It reproduces this image clearly and with high contrast. The TQ50CL 3.0 supports six color palettesThe unused colors can be deactivated in the menu – the next time you switch, you will only see the ones you actually need.
Optics and range – appealing to pieces at a distance
The 50mm lens with aperture F1.0 It collects a lot of heat – this pays off in rain and humid air. Detection range is up to 2.600 meters. The field of vision is approximately [missing information] at 100 meters. 15 MetersThis is typical for a 50mm device and is well-suited for open field and mixed hunting areas. Keep this in mind when hunting in dense woodland with a narrow field of view. The digital zoom works with Zoom Pro technology – the image remains sharp even at high magnification. The maximum usable magnification with a riflescope is… up to 12 times.
Shot recording and aiming point analysis – assessing the point of impact directly at the hunting stand
The TQ50CL 3.0 automatically records the shot – seven seconds before and after the shot is firedIncluding sound. That alone is practical. But what makes the device special is that in clip-on mode it overlays a virtual reticle The reticle is incorporated into the recording. This reticle reflects the point of aim at the moment of the shot. You won't see it in the live image – only in the recording. This allows you to assess the point of impact directly at your hunting stand. You'll immediately see whether your shot was fatal or whether a search is necessary. All recordings can be viewed directly on the device – without a smartphone or computer.
The TQ50CL 3.0 allows the adjust the displayed display areaIf you use a scope with a wide field of view for driven hunts, you will see the entire display. If you use a scope with higher magnification, you will only see a portion. This adjustment ensures that the battery indicator and menu icons remain visible at all times – regardless of the scope you are using.
Battery life and robustness – lasting through the night, in any weather
The TQ50CL 3.0 runs on a Exchangeable battery systemIncluded in the delivery are: two batteries and a charging cradle Included – no need to buy extra to have a reserve. The manufacturer's specification is up to... 6 hours running time per battery. In practice, users report realistic 3 to 4 hours For active use with monitoring. A battery change takes seconds. The housing has a protection class of IP67K – completely dustproof and waterproof. Stalking in the rain, sitting in a hide in the snow – this device can handle it. The operating temperature ranges from −30 °C to +55 °C.
The TQ50CL 3.0 is primarily a Clip-on attachmentThe included eyepiece attachment for handheld operation is functional, but for longer observation time than with a monocular alone Less comfortable than a dedicated handheld device. Users report a somewhat narrow field of view when used handheld. Those who primarily intend to use the device as a spotter in handheld mode should consider this before purchasing. This caveat does not apply when used as a clip-on device mounted on a firearm.
My conclusion on Thunder TQ35CL 3.0
The Thunder The TQ50CL 3.0 is the most powerful for me.
The best clip-on device HIKmicro has ever built. The shutterless system, the LRF integrated directly into the lens, the tilt sensor – these aren't gimmicks, these are things that truly matter when hunting. I was particularly impressed by the shot recording with the virtual reticle. You know immediately whether you've made a good shot – this reduces stress and helps with tracking wounded game.
I recommend the following adapter: Duo connector systemThe mount is consistently precise, the device moves quickly up and down – and it holds its position securely. It also comes with a matching high-quality eyepiece, making the TQ50CL 3.0 a truly enjoyable and fully functional handheld observation device.
