The 35mm lens with F1.0 It provides a wide field of view at short and medium distances. The TQ35CL 3.0 displays the image on a 0,49-inch OLED display with 1920×1080 pixelsThe housing consists of a Magnesium alloy. The removable battery holds when laser rangefinder is active at least 5 hoursThe device weighs 525 gr Includes battery and has the protection class IP67K. The integrated one Laser rangefinder (LRF) measures distances up to 1.000 m with an accuracy of ±1 m.

New developments Thunder-3.0 series
The TQ35CL 3.0 calibrates the sensor without freezing the image. With older devices, this process interrupts the observation every 30 to 120 seconds. The HSIS displays the image continuously. This is particularly important when dealing with black.wild emerges from cover and every second counts.
The TQ35CL 3.0 uses an AI-powered image processing algorithm. The system automatically adjusts the image display to the ambient conditions. Whether backlighting, humid air, or fog: the image remains stable and detailed. Manual adjustment of the image settings is unnecessary.
The TQ35CL 3.0 has its focus ring on the housing, not on the front edge of the lens. This allows for convenient focusing with the hand resting on the housing. When stalking or using a shooting stick, this makes refocusing quick and reliable.
Photos and videos can be played back directly on the TQ35CL 3.0. No app or external device is required. After firing, the point of impact can be immediately checked in the video.
The TQ35CL 3.0 stores up to five zeroing profiles. Users who use the device with different weapons or adapters don't need to re-enter the correction data when switching between them. This saves time and prevents zeroing errors.
Sensor and image quality – clear response in darkness and rain
The TQ35CL 3.0 uses an uncooled focal plane array sensor with 640×512 pixels and a pixel pitch of 12 µm . A NETD value of less than 15 mK means the device can detect even the slightest temperature differences. A sow in the undergrowth, a piglet next to its mother, the hump of a boar – the TQ35CL 3.0 reveals details that are crucial for a clean shot. The image remains clear and high-contrast even in rain, fog, and moonless nights. The 1920×1080 pixel OLED display reproduces the thermal image without any loss of brightness.
Optics and range – response up to 1.800 m
The 35mm lens with an F1.0 aperture provides a 21,9m wide field of view at 100m . This is a generous overview for a 35mm clip-on device. The TQ35CL 3.0 is suitable for daytime riflescopes with up to 15x magnification . The detection range is 1.800m . The integrated laser rangefinder measures distances up to 1.000m with an accuracy of ±1m . The distance is displayed directly in the image, allowing for reliable target acquisition at long range and precise aiming. The LRF module is located behind the objective lens, keeping the housing slim and the mounting compact.
Recording and functions – Shot automatically saved
The TQ35CL 3.0 continuously records video. When a shot is fired, the device automatically saves the 7 seconds before and after the recoil . No manual intervention is required. The recording aids in tracking wounded game and analyzing shot placement. The virtual reticle is visible in the video recording. The TQ35CL 3.0 also features digital image stabilization . At high magnification, the image remains steady and allows for precise assessment. The click value is 1,3 cm at 100 m . The device withstands recoil loads of up to 1.000 g / 0,4 ms . Zeroing remains stable even after firing powerful calibers.
In Germany, the use of thermal imaging clip-on devices on firearms is subject to the Weapons Act. The regulations vary from state to state. We have summarized the most important points in our blog post on the legal status of clip-on devices.
Battery and robustness – 5 hours runtime, IP67 protected
The TQ35CL 3.0's replaceable battery lasts at least 5 hours with LRF active and the hotspot switched off . Carrying a second battery extends the operating time indefinitely. The magnesium alloy housing is IP67 certified , meaning the device can withstand a full underwater dive to a depth of 1 meter. Rain, dew, and splashes are no problem for the TQ35CL 3.0. It is designed for temperatures ranging from -30°C to +55°C and weighs 525 g including the battery.
My conclusion on Thunder TQ35CL 3.0
We used the TQ35CL 3.0 extensively in the Ammerland hunting area – and I'll be honest: I never left my bag. The moment that convinced me was a hunt in November. Pitch-black night, humid air, hardly any wind. A sounder of wild boar emerged from the woods, and I was able to clearly separate the lead sow from the piglets – at a good 120 meters, without any image freezing, without any guesswork.
The wide field of view of 21,9 m at 100 m is, for me, the decisive advantage of the TQ35CL 3.0 compared to a 50 mm device. You maintain an overview even when the sounder is moving. The integrated laser rangefinder provides exactly what thermal imaging lacks: reliable certainty about the distance to the animal. Anyone who has ever misjudged a distance using thermal imaging knows why this is not a luxury.
Are there any drawbacks? Not really. At 525g, the TQ35CL 3.0 is n't the lightest thermal imaging clip-on device on the market. Anyone who spends a lot of time walking will notice this after a few hours. However, it offers all the features of a top-of-the-line thermal imaging device. Otherwise, I can't think of much that bothers me. For me, the TQ35CL 3.0 is the most powerful 35mm clip-on device available.

Frequently asked questions and answers about the device
Can the device save multiple profiles?
Yes. The TQ35CL 3.0 stores up to 5 zeroing profiles . Users who use the device with multiple firearms or different adapters don't need to re-enter the correction data when switching between them—simply select the appropriate profile and you're ready to go. This saves time and prevents errors, especially when speed is essential.
Is a "dual-use" operation possible?
Yes. The TQ35CL 3.0 can be switched from clip-on mode to handheld mode at the touch of a button . In handheld mode, the entire screen is available—the device then functions like a standalone thermal imaging monocular, for example for observation before a hunt or during tracking.
Important: In handheld mode, the saved zeroing profiles are inactive. Before using the device as a clip-on attachment, be sure to switch back to clip-on mode—otherwise, the profile will not be applied.
Can the device also be powered by a power bank?
The TQ35CL 3.0 supports external power supply via USB-C (5V / 2A) . A standard power bank is sufficient. This allows the operating time to be extended as needed—ideal for long sits or multi-day driven hunts.
What is the field of view at 50 m?
The field of view scales linearly with distance. At 50 m, the field of view width is approximately 11 m.At a feeding station 30 m away, the field of vision shrinks to a good 6,5 m — that's enough for a calm group, but it gets tight if blackwild suddenly pulls sideways.
