HIKMICRO LYNX 3.0 LQ35: High-end thermal imaging technology in pocket format

HIKmicro Lynx 3.0 LQ35

If you're looking for a thermal imaging device that's particularly compact and lightweight, then the HIKmicro Lynx 3.0 LQ35 is the perfect choice. It's designed for hunters who need a particularly compact device and typically already own a clip-on thermal imaging attachment. The Lynx 3.0 LQ35 is a monocular – you look through the device with one eye, while the other eye remains unaffected. This allows you to move safely even in darkness and twilight. The Lynx 3.0 LQ35 is therefore especially well-suited for stalking and driven hunts . It combines top-of-the-line performance with a remarkably compact design. The Lynx 3.0 LQ35 is comfortable to wear around the neck without being cumbersome, features a replaceable battery , and delivers an exceptionally sharp image even at longer distances. The casing measures only 169,6 × 53,6 × 49,5 mm and weighs just 354,5 g with the battery.

Who is the HIKmicro Lynx 3.0 LQ35 suitable for?

mixed area
Short and long distances alternate. The high-resolution sensor and the digital zoom up to 15,2x reliably cover both situations.
Very suitable
field station
The 35mm lens reaches its limits at long distances. For open terrain with long shooting distances, we recommend a device with a 50mm lens.
Moderately suitable
forest district
The field of view is approximately 21,9 m at 100 m. In dense forests, this is sufficient for short distances – the compact housing is a particular advantage here.
Suitable
WildAnimal monitoring
Lightweight, discreet to wear, and ready for immediate use. Ideal for observing... Wild In the field – even on long approaches thanks to the interchangeable battery.

New features of the Lynx 3.0 generation

NEW: Shutterless calibration (HSIS)

The image no longer freezes during calibration. Older devices briefly interrupt the image every few seconds. The Lynx 3.0 LQ35 calibrates the sensor in the background – the image remains consistently smooth. This is a real advantage, especially in fast-paced driven hunts or when identifying game while stalking.

NEW: Image Pro 3.0 & Zoom Pro

The new Image Pro 3.0 image algorithm works in conjunction with Zoom Pro . The result: Digital zoom is exceptionally smooth, and detail is preserved even at high magnification. This is particularly important when you want to clearly focus on a subject at a distance.

Sensor and image quality – clear response in darkness and rain

A key feature of the Lynx 3.0 LQ35 is the extremely high sensitivity of its thermal imaging sensor. The sensor resolves with 640 × 512 pixels at a pixel spacing of 12 um on. The The NETD value is below 15 mK This means the sensor detects even the smallest temperature differences. The result is a particularly detailed representation of Wildstructures and features. The image remains clear even in rain, fog, and humid air.

Optics and range – 1.800 m detection range with 35 mm lens

The 35mm lens with an F1.0 aperture ensures high light gathering and good performance even in extreme temperatures. The field of view is approximately 21,9m × 13,2m at 100m . The base magnification is 1,9x , and the digital zoom extends to 15,2x . Thanks to Zoom Pro, the image remains detailed even at high magnification. The image captured by the sensor appears on the 0,49-inch AMOLED display with 1920 × 1080 pixels – offering exceptional contrast and vibrant colors. The detection range is up to 1.800m.

Recording and operation – video, photo and audio with 64 GB storage

The Lynx 3.0 LQ35 has 64 GB of internal storage and records video, photos, and audio. Additional features include Hot Track (marking the warmest area in the image), PIP (picture-in-picture), and a tilt sensor . The device connects to a smartphone via Wi-Fi and an app . Operation is well-designed: a high-quality keypad and a manual focus ring allow for precise focusing.

Note: Color palettes

The Lynx 3.0 LQ35 offers five color palettes: Black Hot, White Hot, Red Hot, Fusion , and Red/Green Monochrome. For hunting, we recommend White Hot or Black Hot – depending on personal preference and environment.

Battery and robustness – replaceable battery and operation down to -30°C

The Lynx 3.0 LQ35 uses standard 18650 batteries . These are inexpensive and readily available. The battery can be changed in just a few steps – even in the dark. The runtime is up to 5 hours at +25°C and still around 4,5 hours at -20°C . The device operates from -30°C to +45°C . In our experience, the interchangeable battery system is a real advantage, especially on long stalks and extended hunting sessions.

Note: No rangefinder (LRF)

The HIKmicro Lynx 3.0 LQ35 does not have an integrated laser rangefinder . Especially in open fields or at long distances, knowing the exact distance to the game can be crucial – for accurate shooting and ethical hunting practices. In this case, we recommend taking a look at the Lynx 3.0 LRF version with an integrated rangefinder.

Our conclusion about the device

Definitely get it if you hunt in a mixed or wooded area. For open field hunting areasJens Dewenter - VENARI Hunting techniqueWe also recommend taking a look at the Sister model with LRF, as this also enables very accurate distance measurement over longer distances. Or directly with the larger ones. VISTA thermal imaging devices Take a look. The Lynx devices are generally particularly suitable for short to medium distances – the LQ35 with its high-resolution sensor covers a particularly wide range of hunting areas and can also impress in open fields or during driven hunts at longer distances.
