The high-capacity 16650 batteries are lithium-ion batteries with high energy density and long service life. The 16650 battery with 2.500mAh current capacity is 2,5 times more powerful than a conventional rechargeable battery, so it can replace two CR123A batteries with capacity advantage. The running time of your thermal imaging attachment increases to up to 7 hours (depending on the outside temperature and type). The 16650 batteries fit into the external battery pack IEB-2 for the Xeye devices CL42, CH50 and CL35M. Two rechargeable batteries are required to operate the rechargeable battery pack.
Lithium-ion batteries can be charged with standard Li-ion chargers . The cycle life of the 16650 battery is more than 500 charge-discharge cycles. If it is charged at its nominal voltage (3,7V), the number of charge cycles can be increased even further.
Caution: Do not charge Li-ion batteries above 4,2V! Higher voltage reduces the battery's cycle life and can cause a fire or explosion.
