Pocket Trail 635 thermal imaging camera
The Pocket Trail 635 This is the more powerful model within JSA Night-Lux's Pocket Trail series. It is aimed at observers who want more Range and detail recognition for medium and long distances, without wanting to forgo a compact device that is always readily available. 640×512 pixel VOx sensor with ≤15 mK NETDthe fast 35mm f/0,8 lens and the 60 Hz refresh rate form the technical foundation for a clear, fluid representation of the heat signature of Wildanimals – in any weather, at any distance. The digital zoom to an effective 1,0× This also makes the device suitable for use at night. 420 g and 215 mm length The Pocket Trail 635 fits comfortably into a jacket pocket.
- 640×512 pixel IR sensor (VOx): High-resolution detector for a fine, detailed representation of the heat signature of Wildanimals – even in bad weather conditions.
- ≤15 mK NETD: Very small temperature difference is needed to distinguish between two objects – the device clearly shows even minimal temperature differences.
- 12 µm pixel pitch: Smaller pixel pitch combined with the 35mm lens ensures a compact design while maintaining high range and detail sharpness.
- Shutterless system: The Pocket Trail 635 calibrates its image almost silently and without any disruptive pauses – no harsh clicks, no brief freeze of the image. Observation remains smooth and uninterrupted.
- 60 Hz refresh rate: Moving WildAnimals are displayed smoothly and without jerking – important for reliable response in motion.
- 35 mm / F0,8 lens: A fast lens with a large aperture allows over 40% more heat energy to reach the sensor compared to an F1,0 lens. This noticeably improves range and image quality.
- 1,5× optical magnification: Fixed optical magnification, ideal for medium to long distances in open terrain.
- 1,0–8× digital zoom (effective): By digitally reducing the magnification to 1,0×, the device remains suitable for moving around at night and for close-up observations – field of view like the smaller Pocket Trail 625.
- Detection range up to 1.800 m: detection of WildHeat over long distances – suitable for open areas, fields and wide hunting grounds.
- 0,49″ OLED display (1920×1080 pixels): High pixel density for a high-contrast, sharp image display directly at the eyepiece.
- Visual field 21,9 × 17,6 m at 100 m: Practical field of vision for the WildObservation from medium and long distances.
- Replaceable battery 1× 18650 / up to 5 hours: Standardized battery type, easily replaceable – the runtime can be easily extended by carrying a spare battery in your backpack.
- Distance eyepiece 1–8 cm: Full field of vision even for eyeglass wearers – no restriction due to corrective lenses.
- Manual focus: Precise focus adjustment at any distance, without automatic misfocusing.
- Intuitive controls: Separate scroll wheel, confirmation button and dedicated photo/video button with a clear distance between them – safe operation even with gloves.
- 420 g weight / 215×51×51 mm: Compact, handy format – fits in a jacket pocket and does not cause fatigue when held for extended periods.
- 64 GB internal storage + app: Save photos and videos directly to the device, manage them via app, and install software updates.
- Protection class IP67: Dustproof and waterproof – the device can withstand even adverse weather conditions.
- 3 year manufacturer's warranty: Solid protection over a long period.
- In-house service: Repair and service directly at the importer – short distances, fast processing.
The Pocket Trail 635 thermal imaging camera – range and flexibility in a compact monocular
The most important features in detail
- Shutterless system: The Pocket Trail 635 calibrates its image differently than conventional devices. With a classic shutter system, the image freezes for 1-2 seconds during calibration, accompanied by a loud click. In contrast, the shutterless system operates almost silently: within the first minute of operation, only three very brief calibrations occur, during which the image brightens slightly for a tiny moment – without freezing. Afterward, the device calibrates every 10 minutes, practically imperceptibly. This is particularly important when Wildanimals are currently in motion.
- ≤15 mK NETD (temperature difference sensitivity): The NETD value indicates how small the temperature difference between two areas can be for the device to still recognize them as separate heat sources. With ≤15 mK, the Pocket Trail 635 detects even minimal temperature differences – the fur of a WildThis allows the animal to stand out clearly from the background, even in adverse weather conditions. A low NETD value is a crucial quality indicator for a thermal imaging device.
- 35 mm / F0,8 lens: An aperture of f/0,8 means the lens has a very large effective opening. Compared to a standard f/1,0 lens, this allows over 40% more heat energy to reach the sensor. The result is a brighter, more detailed image – especially in fog, high humidity, or at long distances, precisely when it matters most.
- 1,0× digital reduction of zoom: Although the Pocket Trail 635 has a 1,5x optical base magnification, it can be digitally reduced to an effective 1,0x magnification. This results in a wide field of view – ideal for safe movement at night, stalking, and tracking. The device thus combines the qualities of two different devices.
- 640×512 pixel VOx sensor with 12 µm pixel pitch: The combination of a high pixel count and small pixel pitch ensures a fine resolution of the heat signature. More pixels mean more displayable detail – the WildThe body can be clearly addressed even at a distance.
- 60 Hz refresh rate: The human eye perceives motion as fluid at around 24 frames per second. At 60 frames per second, even fast-moving objects appear smooth. WildAnimals are depicted smoothly without jerking or trailing. This significantly facilitates reliable response during movement.
- Replaceable battery system (1× 18650): The Pocket Trail 635 uses a standard 18650 battery. For those planning a long hunt, simply insert a charged spare battery – no tools required, in seconds. This extends the operating time indefinitely. No proprietary format, no expensive manufacturer's battery needed.
- Distance eyepiece 1–8 cm / Eyeglass wearers: The generously adjustable distance eyepiece ensures that the full field of view is maintained even when wearing glasses. Many devices lose peripheral image areas in this situation – the Pocket Trail 635 does not.
- Controls that can be used with gloves: A separate scroll wheel, confirmation button, and dedicated photo and video buttons are positioned with sufficient spacing between them. The buttons are easy to locate by touch and can be operated reliably even with thick winter gloves – without any confusion in the dark.
- 64 GB internal storage + app connectivity: The device stores photos and videos directly internally. Recordings can be managed and software updates installed via the accompanying app – without having to send the device to the manufacturer.

FAQs
Detection range: Up to 1.800 m – that is the maximum distance at which the device can detect a heat source.
In practice, the usable distance depends on what you want to do:
- Detect (something is there): up to 1.800 m
- Speak to (What is this?): significantly shorter, roughly 400–800 m depending on Wildsize and weather
- Close range / Movement at night: Due to digital reduction to 1,0×, it is also suitable for short distances and stalking.
The device is therefore primarily intended for medium to long distances Designed for open areas, fields, and observation at a distance. Those who primarily use the Pocket Trail 625 in the woods at short distances might be better served by the smaller Pocket Trail 625 (shorter lens, wider field of view).
Yes. The distance eyepiece is adjustable between 1 and 8 cm – this means that even eyeglass wearers have access to the full field of view.
Yes. The IP67 protection rating protects against dust and water. The F0,8 lens also ensures that the image remains clear and high-contrast even in rain, fog, and high humidity.
