Thunder 3.0 series HIKMICRO has launched a completely redesigned family of devices, which we have extensively tested and deployed in the field from Amerland. Thunder 3.0 devices are thermal imaging attachments They are mounted in front of an existing daylight riflescope, transforming it into a fully functional thermal imaging system. The family consists of five models, differing in sensor and lens, thus offering the right device for every hunting area and application. The Thunder 3.0 Family Overview
The device family is consistently modular in design: the lens and sensor determine the application profile, while the rest is identical across all models. This means all devices benefit from the same core technologies – from sensitivity and display to operation.
Those who frequently hunt at short to medium distances – driven hunts, baiting, woodland hunting grounds – are best advised to use the TQ35C 3.0, which impresses with its large field of view of almost 22 m at 100 m. However, those who sit at a distance in open areas and need maximum detail will be better off with the TQ50C 3.0 or the flagship TQ50CL 3.0 Better served. Those who want both and don't want to do without an integrated rangefinder should choose the respective CL model.

Common technology base: What all models offer
All devices of the Thunder The 3.0 family shares the same technical foundation. 12-µm detector with a thermal sensitivity of ≤ 15 mK It is currently considered the gold standard in the civilian sector – even the slightest temperature differences are reliably detected, even under difficult weather conditions. This enables an image quality that we are familiar with from the field, significantly better than with previous generations.
The 0,49-inch OLED display with 1920×1080 pixels This is one of the crucial differences compared to the previous generation. The high-resolution display allows for a complete image representation in the daylight riflescope at simple magnification – only at around 2,5x magnification do the first corners become slightly cut off. Even at 15x magnification The image remains pixel-free and detailed – we were able to confirm this both during zeroing and in hunting operations.
HIKMICRO Shutterless Image System (HSIS)
One of the most important technical innovations in the 3.0 series is the Shutterless Image SystemThe device automatically calibrates the sensor in the background without interrupting the image display. In practice, this means no more annoying clicking, no more image interruptions at inopportune moments, and no gradual deterioration of image quality if you forget to calibrate in manual mode.
To ensure consistently high image quality upon power-up and during significant temperature fluctuations, the shutter module has been retained in the device. HSIS handles ongoing calibration automatically and without interruption during normal operation.
Handheld mode & dual-use
New to the 3.0 family is the handheld mode, which is activated by a short or double press of the menu button. In handheld mode, the entire image is displayed on the full screen – without the limitations of the mounted mode. Additionally, the features familiar from the Cona series are then available. Zoom Pro feature available, which allows digital zooming into the image – with very little loss of quality.
In handheld mode, the Zeroing profiles not activeAnyone wishing to use the device as a clip-on device again must absolutely switch back to clip-on device mode so that the saved zeroing profiles are activated again.
Zeroing & Profiles
The precise OLED display also makes a difference during zeroing: With a Click value of 1,3 cm at 100 m The device can be adjusted with exceptional precision. Up to 5 zeroing profiles can be saved, so that the Thunder Version 3.0 can be used seamlessly on multiple weapons. With the next update of the HIKMICRO Sight App, zeroing will also be possible directly via the app – adjustments then without menu navigation on the device.
Recording & Local Album
The shot-triggered recording It automatically saves a configurable time period before and after the shot – selectable in increments of 5, 7, or 10 seconds. Particularly convenient: The recorded video or photos can be saved directly on the device. Local Album The shot can be viewed while still in the hunting blind or stalking. This allows for a reconstruction at the shooting location of how and where the shot was fired – and in which direction the animal ran.
Since the Thunder 3.0, a legally compliant front-mounted device without a superimposed reticle, offers a practical addition virtual reticulum in the video recordingThe reticle is displayed in the video and can be aligned so that the point of impact can be precisely reconstructed when viewing the video later – on the device or on the computer.
Battery & Operation
The proven Removable battery system Features from the 2.0 series have been carried over to the 3.0 generation – same flap, same battery. Each device comes with two batteries delivered, each of them realistically holds around 6hThe device can also be powered by a power bank (USB-C, 5V/2A). Compact, powerful, and long-lasting – without a huge battery pack on the riflescope.
Picture modes
All Thunder 3.0 devices offer a selection of picture modes for different situations and personal preferences: Black-Hot and White-Hot as classic modes, in addition Red-Hot, Fusion, an eye-friendly Sepia mode as well as one green-black mode For those who prefer a military-inspired look.
